Chino

What is chino fabric? Similar to denim, chino is a lightweight and durable cotton fabric in twill weave. The fabric originated in China, hence the name "Chino," which translates to "Chinese" in Spanish, reflecting its origins in the former Spanish colony of the Philippines.
In the mid-19th century, chino fabric gained popularity in the military, where it was used to make khaki-coloured army trousers. The lightweight chino pants are commonly referred to as "khakis" due to their preferred colour.
Today, chino fabric is also widely used as an alternative to denim for various headwear options.
