COOLMAX®
Wicking moisture away from the body with COOLMAX®
Sweating is the body's natural reaction to an increase in temperature. So-called transpiration is an effective mechanism that helps us to release excess heat and therefore to regulate body temperature. Especially during physical exercise, the body's temperature increases and more sweat is produced. Classic, raw textiles such as cotton or wool are particularly kind to the skin and are therefore suitable for use when manufacturing sportswear. However, even though these textiles absorb moisture very well, they do not release it back into the surrounding air. This results in wet sportswear, which clings uncomfortably to the body.
The right choice for athletes
In 1986, the INVISTA company developed an intelligent functional fabric, which was marketed under the COOLMAX® trademark and changed the sportswear industry forever. Thanks to COOLMAX®, athletes can train more intensively and for longer, without having to endure uncomfortable sportswear.
Properties:This is what the COOLMAX® fabric looks like
Behind the COOLMAX® trademark lies a functional textile made of Dacron® polyester fibres. These fibres are made of polyester, but are characterised by their multilobal cross section. This allows the fibres to absorb moisture and wick it away to the surface of the fabric with a capillary effect, so that the moisture can evaporate. This is unlike materials such as cotton or wool, which are able to absorb moisture very well, but are unable to release them back into the environment.
Perfect for activities
Unlike many other synthetic fibres, COOLMAX® is breathable. In practice, this means that COOLMAX® textiles immediately absorb sweat, wick it away to the surface of the fabric and therefore leave the wearer feeling dry. The material's breathable properties also mean you will not get sweaty as quickly. COOLMAX® is comfortable to wear and leaves you feeling dry, and is therefore primarily used for sportswear.
Care tips:	Although COOLMAX® is a highly functional material, caring for COOLMAX® textiles is incredibly easy. Clothing made from COOLMAX® can be washed in the washing machine and dried in a tumble drier. However, you should never use fabric softeners or bleach containing chlorine with COOLMAX® textiles. As each item is different, we advise you to follow the individual care instructions for your COOLMAX® clothing.
Conclusion:	Whether you're a professional or amateur athlete, COOLMAX® keeps you pleasantly dry and cool, even during the hardest workouts.
