Bearskin Hat

What is a bearskin hat?
The striking feature of the hat is its exceptionally tall, rounded shape at the top and the absence of a brim. A chin strap ensures a secure fit on the head.
In 1798, the guards of the East India Company wore bearskin hats. Other guards, such as those in England and Russia, also dressed in this headgear. In Great Britain, the magnificent hat is still worn on ceremonial occasions today.
