  • Cap Cleaning Kit

    This practical cleaning kit will make your caps look as good as new. It comprises a special cleaning spray with fragrance, a cleaning brush and a soft microfibre cloth. Dirt, sweat stains, make-up stains and unpleasant odours are removed effectively with the kit. Use regularly to ensure that your favourite cap receives the best care and looks as-good-as-new for a long time. Follow these steps for perfect cleaning:

    1. We generally recommend that you clean your caps by hand.
    2. Before using the cleaning kit, check the colour fastness of the material to prevent any discolouration.
    3. First dampen the cap in warm water.
    4. Shake the spray bottle before use and hold it 4-6 cm from the cap while spraying.
    5. Spray the cap thoroughly on the outside and inside so that it is drenched in the cap cleaner.
    6. Let the cap cleaner work for 10 to 15 minutes.
    7. Then allow the cap to air dry.
    8. To ensure that the cap does not shrink, wear it for several minutes directly after it has dried.

    Please note that the cleaning kit is not suitable for the following materials: suede, velour, corduroy and silk.

  • Hat Care Impregnation Anti-Rain

    Our Impregnation Anti-Rain is a universal impregnation with silicon resins and contains exclusively harm-free ingredients. If used regularly, impregnation ensures that water, dirt and grease simply drips off. Furthermore, the colour of the material treated can be intensified through impregnation. The product is suitable for hats, caps and shoes made of all kinds of leather and textiles. Weatherproofing membranes can also be treated with the care product. In order to achieve the best possible impregnation, you should carry out the task in the following order:

    1. First clean and dry the surface to be treated.
    2. Shake the impregnation can and hold it downwards.
    3. From a distance of approx. 25 cm, spray the product evenly over the surface.
    4. Then allow the impregnated item to dry thoroughly.

    In order to maintain long-lasting protection, it is important to regularly repeat the impregnation procedure.

    Suitable for the following materials:

  • Wax for Waxed Cotton Products

    To ensure long-term care for hats, caps and other waxed cotton textiles, you should treat them with this protective wax from Barbour. The product ensures that the articles receive a new thin layer of wax that reliably allows water to drip off while also repelling germs. Please note the following steps for the best results:

    1. First place the tin in hot water to soften the wax.
    2. Work the wax into the product with a clean cloth or sponge.
    3. Take care when working near folds, seams and flecks because the wax tends to accumulate here and is more difficult to apply.
    4. Then rub the wax thoroughly into the product, but do not put any surplus wax back into the tin.
    5. To achieve a “good-as-new” look, dry the product with a hair drier.
    6. Alternatively, you can hang the product up to dry overnight in a warm place.

  • Care Brush for Nubuck Leather

    As its name suggests, this brush is suitable exclusively for lightly coarse nubuck leather. It can be used for hats, caps and other textiles. The nubuck leather brush is made from natural robust wild boar bristles and serves to freshen up, clean and remove dust from the product types mentioned.

    Follow these steps in the right order to achieve the best results:

    1. Place the brush on the hat and brush in the direction of the material’s grain.
    2. It is important to only press the brush down lightly so as not to overstress the nubuck leather. The principle applies: it is better to clean more often with light pressure than to clean rarely and press down too hard.
    3. Only clean the product in a dry condition because wet-cleaning can damage the leather.

  • Hat Box

    The hat box serves as a way to store your hat and makes transporting it easier. Thanks to its chic design, the hat box can also be used as a wonderful decorative piece. Please note the following points to ensure that your hat is placed in the box correctly and protected in the best possible way:

    1. First measure the highest and widest point of the hat to be stored.
    2. The measurements of the hat should only be a little smaller than those of the box so that the hat fits inside perfectly and does not get squashed or slide around too much.
    3. Now lay the hat in the box with the brim side at the bottom and close the box.

    It is important to make sure that the brim does not get bent so that it retains its shape. For hats with a brim that curves downwards, it is a good idea to pad out the hat so that it lies higher and the brim is not permanently deformed.

  • Hat Sustainer

    The hat sustainer is suitable for felt and straw hats, particularly fur felt and panama hats; it improves unattractive deformations at the front of the head and/or prevents them occurring in the first place. The perforations are especially important for ensuring good air circulation because the hat sustainer is laid inside the hat and also stays there while you wear it. The hat sustainer can only be used for hats with a curved crown however, because the form of the sustainer is itself adapted to this shape.

    The hat must also be at least 10 cm tall so that the hat sustainer has enough room and can be put in the correct position. The hat sustainer should be positioned in the front head inside section, under the lining band/leather. To do this, the curved edge of the sustainer should be turned downwards and laid inside the hat crown so that the hat sustainer can be clamped under the grosgrain ribbon. The hat sustainer will therefore nestle against the shape of the hat perfectly.

    With our chin strap for western hats, the cowboy hats are supplemented by a useful accessory that is not only a real eye-catcher visually, but also demonstrates a high level of functionality. On the one hand, the strap helps the hat stay on your head. It also enables you to wear the hat hanging around your neck. It therefore does not always have to be worn on the head or held in your hands.

    See below for step-by-step instructions on how to thread the chin strap through the hat. Please note that the strap can only be used for western hats with two eyelets per side.

    1. Starting from the inside of the head, thread the chin strap through the back rivet in an outwards direction.
    2. Then tie a knot in the inside end.
    3. Now thread the chin strap through the front rivet on the same hat side.
    4. Then bring the strap to the other side and thread it from inside to the outside through the rivet located opposite.
    5. Then thread it once again from the outside to the inside through the back rivet located next to the front rivet.
    6. Now tightly knot the end.
    7. With the help of the stopper and the loop that has been created, you can now regulate the length of the strap.

    This practical hat stretcher enables you to stretch hats that have become smaller with time and no longer sit well upon your head. High air humidity and rain can lead to felt or straw hats in particular becoming tighter. Furthermore it is also possible to stretch hats that have been a little too small from the beginning. The hat stretcher can stretch the hat width up to 1 cm maximum. In order to achieve an optimal result and not damage the hat, you should bear the following points in mind:

    1. In the case of brittle materials such as straw, itis advisable to moisten them a little before working them with the hat stretcher, to make them more stretchable and robust.
    2. Place the hat stretcher in the hat. By turning the rod in the middle you can evenly expand the stretcher in both directions.
    3. As soon as you can feel a light tension and the hat does not slip away from the hat stretcher when you turn it, this means that it is sitting ideally. Caution: If there is too much tension, the hat can become damaged and the material will be strained too much.
    4. During the procedure, the hat stretcher should be held as straight as possible to the point where the brim meets the head section/crown.
    5. When the hat stretcher is set correctly it should stay in the hat over night to get the best possible results. If the results are not quite satisfactory, the procedure can be repeated a second time.

    Our handy textile brush is perfect for removing dirt from your felt hat. So that your hat receives the optimal care, it is helpful to follow this guide when using it:

    1. Place the brush on the hat.
    2. With light pressure, draw the brush along the hat.
    3. In the case of fur felt or other felts with longer fibres, make sure that you brush following the grain and/or the fur structure.
    4. It is important to only use the brush when it is dry or with a specially designed care product. If you clean it when the brush is damp, the dirt will only be rubbed in and enlarged instead of being removed.

  • Dirt Blocker Care Spray

    This anti dirt blocker is an impregnation spray that is primarily used for caps and sneakers, but can also be used for many other textiles. Using the spray creates a protective film that protects the products treated from water and dirt for several weeks at a time. The products continue to wick away air and dampness even after impregnation, thereby creating pleasant wearing comfort. Furthermore, the spray is biodegradable, environmentally friendly and not dangerous to water organisms.

    Follow the steps below in order to achieve the best protection:

    1. Test on an invisible area to ensure colour fastness.
    2. Use in the open-air and in well-ventilated areas.
    3. Spray on the dirt blocker from a distance of 20-30 cm and allow to work for 30 minutes.
    4. Impregnate the products two or three times to achieve a first fundamental treatment.
    5. To freshen up the product after this, only one application is necessary.

    The Dirt Blocker is not suitable for sensitive surfaces such as patent leather, imitation leather etc.

    The Caps and Sneakers Toolbox is a combination kit from the Clean Keeper Set with brush & sponge, Dirt Blocker and the Cap Fresh Express – an all-round programme for all caps.

    The Dirt Blocker is a spray that prevents water and dirt from soiling the cap. The spray is suitable for almost all materials, although you should treat sensitive materials such as patent leather or imitation leather with particular care.

    The Cap Fresh Express is a deodorant for caps and sneakers that serves to prevent unpleasant odours. Suitable for all materials.

    The Clean Keeper Set with brush and sponge is the third of the group; it serves to remove dirt and can also be used on most materials. Do take care with patent and imitation leather, however, because these can be soiled by the brush or the sponge.

    Follow the steps below to ensure that the deodorant for caps and sneakers can unfold its true effectiveness:

    1. Only use the products in well ventilated areas in the open-air.
    2. A few sprays in the cap or the shoe are enough to last for several days.
    3. After spraying allow the product to dry for a short time.
    4. We recommend that you re-apply whenever you have worn the cap for a long period.

    The Clean Keeper Set with Brush & Sponge consists of the dirt removing Clean Keeper for sneakers and caps, a cleaning sponge and a cleaning brush. The product is suitable for light to medium soiling and almost all materials. When cleaning with the brush, you should take extra care with leather and imitation leather, because the material can get scratched.

    Follow the steps below to achieve ideal cleaning:

    1. Shake the can with the Clean Keeper well.
    2. Apply the foam onto the cap from a distance of approx. 10 cm.
    3. Allow the product to work for one minute.
    4. Clean the cap with the help of the brush or the sponge.
    5. Then rub off the remaining foam with a damp cloth.
    6. If the material is very dirty, the entire cleaning procedure must be repeated.

  • Care Brush for Suede and Nubuck Leather

    This brush cleans and cares for hats and other textiles made from soft suede and nubuck leather. The rubber bristles do not damage the leather but are also robust enough to achieve an ideal cleaning result. As well as cleaning the hat, the brush also helps to maintain the colour and/or return the hat to its original colour. However, it is important not to use the brush too often so as not to over-stress the material.

    Follow these steps in the right order to achieve the best results:

    1. Place the brush on the hat and brush in the direction of the grain.
    2. Only press the brush lightly so as not to damage the hat.
    3. It is important to only use the brush in a dry condition or at the most, in combination with a suitable care product. You should under no circumstances wet-clean the hat.

  • Care Brush for Suede Hats

    You can clean hats and other textiles made from firm coarse types of suede with our suede brush, so that they return to their original condition. As well as cleaning, the brushes also help to remove any shine which has developed. The two-part bristle structure of the brushes enables dust to be easily removed with the natural bristles and the leather to be roughened up with the bristles made from brass wire, meaning that an even texture can be created. Follow these steps when using the suede leather brush:

    1. As soon as you start using the brush on the hat, it is important to continue brushing in one direction to maintain the structure.
    2. So as not to overstress the material, we recommend not pressing down on the brush too much and not cleaning with the brush too often.
    3. Finally, you should make sure that the brush is only used when dry.

  • Cork Inlays

    The cork inlays serve to reduce the hat size by a maximum width of 1 cm. They can be used with all hats that have an inner band; the inlays are placed behind this band. If the hat wearer tends to have a fairly elongated shaped head, we recommend placing the cork inlays at the side. For all other head shapes, the inlays should be placed either at the front or the back, in order to guarantee that the hat has a perfect hold.
