What is a 9Fifty Cap?

The 9Fifty is one of the most famous baseball cap models from New Era. Not least because it is decidedly similar to 59Fifty. The only difference here is that the back part is not closed, but adjustable by the press stud tab. So the 9Fifty is a true snapback.

The casual flat-brim style can be ideally integrated into your outfit with a 9Fifty, while the size can easily be adjusted to fit your head.

Definition of a 9Fifty cap

The term snapback is often mistakenly used as a synonym for any kind of cool hip-hop cap – but with the 9Fifty it’s spot on. This is the name given only to the adjustable closure made of plastic on the back of a cap, which is the case with the 9Fifty. Thus, the model is an adjustable cap.

Furthermore, the front of the 9Fifty is reinforced with buckram and the peak is straight. The only exception is the 9Fifty Stretch Snap. This model has a curved peak and, in addition to the adjustable snap, a comfortable stretch lining band. In this case, it is very close to the 9Forty model, which, however, is not stretchy. The 9Fifty is also available with a mesh panel on the back as an airy trucker cap.

As usual with New Era models, the logos of the American sports teams make up the style of the cap. Black, grey and white are the classic basic colours for 9Fifty baseball caps. They harmonise with pretty much any kind of team logo. More and more often, the cap is also adapted to the respective sports team in terms of colour, such as purple for the LA Lakers.

How do you wear a 9Fifty?

Of course, there are no limits to the individual style here. However, a 9Fifty is usually worn as follows, so that it fits comfortably: The cap should fit approximately 1 cm above the ears. To do this, it must be adjusted to the correct size by means of a press stud. Afterwards, the cap can simply be pulled over the head from the back to the front. If you like, you can pull it down slightly further at the back than at the front.

If you like to wear the peak backwards, you can reverse this procedure by attaching the back part of the 9Fifty to the front of the head and then pulling it backwards over the head.
