Beekeeper\'s Hat

What is a beekeeper's hat? The beekeeper's hat is a headgear worn by beekeepers to protect themselves from stinging bees. The hat is typically flat with a soft crown, ensuring a snug and secure fit. The beekeeper's hat also features a wide and sturdy brim that stands straight out. This is because a net (also called a veil) is attached around the brim to protect both the head and face from the bees. To ensure that the bees cannot find their way under the net, the lower part of the net is equipped with a loop. Once the hat is pulled over the head, the loop can be tightened to fit snugly around the neck. To ensure visibility during work, the veils are also equipped with an integrated field of vision. The beekeeper's hat is typically combined with a matching beekeeper's suit and gloves to protect the entire body.

Regarding the hat's history, while its design and appearance have evolved, its function has remained unchanged. The beekeeper's hat continues to serve as protection from bees to avoid painful stings. However, the variety of models available has increased significantly over time. There are now versions with veils securely attached, as well as those without veils. Depending on the need, a separate veil can still be worn over the veil-less variants.
