Bobby Helmet

What is a Bobby helmet? The Bobby helmet is a typical headgear worn by police officers in England. It was named after Robert "Bobby" Pell, the reorganiser of the English police force. In England and Wales, the police helmet is primarily worn by officers on foot patrol.

The Bobby helmet is made of cork and covered with black felt fabric. A distinctive feature is the large crest adorning the front of the British headgear. Additionally, either a comb, ball, or knob is attached to the top of the hat. This may vary depending on the police district.
