Elastane

What is elastane? Elastane is a synthetic fibre also known by the name Spandex. The fibre is derived from the polymer polyurethane. Elastane was first produced in 1959, but it wasn't until three years later that it became known under the brand name "Lycra". Since then, the material has been primarily used in sportswear.
Elastane is valued for its stretchable and tear-resistant properties, making it a common component in many textiles.
