Microfiber

What is microfiber? Microfiber is an exceptionally fine industrially manufactured fiber. Compared to other natural fibres, it is the finest of all, even thicker than silk or human hair. Due to this property, fabrics made from this synthetic fibre acquire a particularly soft texture. Additionally, microfiber boasts lower lint formation, high shape retention, and great absorbency. Another advantage is the ease of cleaning the fabric.

What is microfiber made of? The term microfiber simply describes the fine nature of the fibre so that a microfiber fabric can consist of various raw materials such as polyester, nylon, polyacrylic, or cellulose. In further processing, specific treatments can define the surface structure differently. For example, roughening the surface can create a fluffy texture, while a shiny finish produces a satin-like fabric.
